Debut with PhilZuid!
The programme opens with Vaughan Williams' soaring "Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis" after which we hear the fellow Englishman Elgar's equally beautiful Cello concerto with Liav Kerbel as soloist.
The second half features the famous Stravinsky's "Firebird" suite. Before that we hear Czech composer Kaprálová's "Suita Rustica", which is based on different folk themes with a strong influence of Stravinsky.
A warm welcome to the concerts!
